Chess Classes vs Private Tutoring

As a professional chess coach for last 25 years, I have taught thousands of talented students in both weekly classes and private lessons. Certainly, some of my longevity as a chess professional can be attributed to being based in Silicon Valley – a region renowned for chess excellence. However, the Silicon Valley mindset is also results based and my extraordinary approach to teaching chess regularly produces extraordinary results.

For many young chess players, weekly occurring chess classes have proven to be an effective means to chess growth. My chess classes in the San Francisco Bay Area are skill level based and attract many scholastic chess players who are passionate about learning and enjoy working with other likeminded young chess players. My curriculum choices for these classes have regularly produced both state and national championship chess teams. However, there are some limitations in seeing a chess student only in a group setting.

For students who would like more individualized attention, I provide one-on-one private instruction both online and in person. Parents who decide to sign their children up for private lessons will find that my approach allows for a personalized chess education plan that adapts to each child’s personality, ability, chess style and learning style. Hiring me as a private coach is an investment in your child’s chess career. If your child is a serious chess player, know that I have the coaching experience necessary to prepare them to excel at local chess tournaments, national championships events and world youth competitions.

For information on my group lessons, I recommended following the Daily Chess Musings’ Events Calendar and requesting more information on California chess classes by emailing me at DailyChessMusings@gmail.com.
