On May 8, FIDE Master James Eade and Chris Torres of DailyChessMusings.com will come together to present the second annual Eade Foundation Spring Scholastic Chess Classic. The goal of this online tournament is to raise awareness for the Eade Foundation’s goals of promoting chess literacy and chess excellence globally.  The Eade Foundation’s Spring Scholastic Chess Classic is a 5 round Swiss style chess tournament broken up by grade level into 4 sections (K-1, 2-5, 6-8, 9-12 .) Scholastic chess players from around the United States are invited to participate in this inaugural event and compete while doing their part to promote chess excellence globally. The top 20 players in each section will receive incredible custom awards including plaques and medals.  The entry fee is just $20 but, since this is a US Chess online rated event, all participants must be current members of the United States Chess Federation. School aged chess players are encouraged to join Jim Eade and Chris Torres in support of increasing chess literacy and excellence by signing up for the Eade Foundation Spring Scholastic Chess Classic here:
