The remarkable career of Garry Kasparov makes him one of the most influential chess players of the twentieth century. Kasparov, who views chess as both a sport and and art has stated that “Chess is one of the few arts where composition takes place simultaneously with performance.” His style of neatly combining the art and science of chess fundamentally altered the course of modern chess and will continue to inspire generations of younger chess players for the foreseeable future.

By 1977, a 13 year old Garry Kasparov was already a great artist at the chessboard as we can clearly see by discovering his winning move in today’s puzzle.
