The Inaugural Mission360/Bay Area Chess GM Norm Invitational is in the books. Kudos to GM Jianchao Zhou who came all the way from China and took 1st place. Congratulations are also in order to fellow Californian Robert Shlyakhtenko who, by finishing second second place, passed 2400 FIDE and thus is now an IM-elect. Of course, the purpose of these tournaments is to allow local talent the opportunity to earn FIDE titles and as such, the Inaugural Mission360/Bay Area Chess GM Norm Invitational achieved its goal.
