Chess Progress Report from Ethan Mei

Advertisements

Greetings Chess Players. My name is Chris Torres and this is my daily chess musing for Sunday May 2, 2021.

The most satisfying aspect of being a chess teacher is watching students grow their understanding of the game of chess by absorbing the ideas that you have taught them. Recently, I received a very nice progress update from a hardworking young member of the Daily Chess Musings community whom I have the pleasure of mentoring.

Ethan Mei wrote:

Hi Coach Chris,

Thank you so much for all of your teachings and chess camps!

They have helped me improve drastically. I also enjoyed your gifts very much and feel that they are cool.

You and your teachings have helped me achieve:

-1800 on lichess.org

-1st place in a tournament in a chess and math rated tournament

-a better understanding of chess

I owe all of this to you!

Your teachings and camps were what got me first interested in chess and helped me get to a good level of play in a few months.

Thank you for you time and effort,

Ethan

Thanks for the update Ethan but those achievements are all yours. I am just happy to have been able to help you along your path to chess mastery.
