The Daily Chess Musings Free Online Summer Chess Camp series is your child’s chance to learn chess with top professional chess coaches for three unforgettable weeks of online chess training and competition. Each week of chess camp, students will attend special chess lessons taught by Correspondence Master and one of California’s most popular chess teachers, Chris Torres. In addition, all attendees will be invited to participate in live masterclasses with esteemed special guest instructors. Whether your child is an absolute beginner or already a state champion, the Free Online Summer Chess Camp skill level focused curriculum will improve their chess tactics, knowledge of chess openings, middle game strategies and endgame technique.
This internationally acclaimed summer chess camp will be held during the weeks of June 12-16, July 17-21 and August 7-11. Participants will spend five hours on chess activities per day from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time. All children will earn camp points by completing assignments and taking place in camp chess tournaments against other players in their skill level groups. At the end of the week, special prizes will be awarded to the top point earners in each skill level section. Each week will offer unique learning opportunities and any child who completes all three weeks of chess camp will also receive a special diploma to commemorate their achievement. There is no charge to register your child for these camps but please help us with better prepare by signing up as soon as possible.

CCM Chris Torres
Chris Torres is a nationally renowned scholastic chess coach working in the San Francisco Bay Area. His classes have attracted players of strengths ranging from rank beginners to world champions. A chess professional since 1998, Chris is widely recognized as one of the main driving forces behind the explosion in popularity and sudden rise in quality of scholastic chess in California. Chris Torres served as the President of the Torres Chess and Music Academy from 2005-2020 and currently is recognized as a correspondence chess master with the United States Chess Federation. Since 1998 Chris Torres has taught 6 individual national champions as well as lead multiple school teams to win national championship titles. In addition, Chris Torres has directed and taught at 10 different schools which have been California State Champions at chess. In 2011 and 2012, several former and current students of Chris Torres have been selected to represent the United States at the World Youth Chess Championships.
